Safety Tips

Mother helps her carve safely
Staying safe in the kitchen is so important for you and your child.  Each month we are going to give you a new safety tip. You should think of safety when storing, handling and preparing food so make sure you come back each month for more information.

This Month
November
Remove jewellery before cooking

Before you start cooking a meal you should remove any jewellery you are wearing.  This includes watches, rings and bracelets.  Once you have removed them you should wash your hands and wrists.  This is because millions of germs can often be found under rings, watches and bracelets so it is safer to remove them and keep your hands clean.
