You will need a cup or bowl to break the egg into and wash your hands as you will be touching the egg directly. First hold the egg in your hand and tap it on the edge of the bowl or cup. If you tap it hard enough it should make a crack in the shell. Next put both your thumbs inside the crack and pull the eggshell in opposite directions. The insides of the egg should fall into the bowl or cup and you will be left holding the shell. It is then ready for you to cook.
