Buying Tips
Child Friendly Activity

Child and dad look at ingredients available
Do you know what to look out for in the supermarket? Each month we will give you information on what to look for when buying a type of food.

This Month
March
Look out for great offers

You can save a lot of money in supermarkets by looking at the different offers that are available.  Have you ever read the leaflet from your local supermarket that comes through the door with your free paper? If not it is worth reading as you can see what offers are available in advance, and you may be surprised.

When you visit the supermarket you should look around at the offers available.  It could 3 for the price of 2, buy one get one free or a discount on a particular product.  If it is something that will last that and that you can use in the future it may be worth taking advantage of a multi-buy offer. However don’t be tempted to buy extra just because it is on offer or it may go to waste.  If you don’t have many people to buy for in your house is there a friend or family member that could benefit so food isn’t wasted?

Different supermarkets have different offers on so if you have the luxury of another supermarket nearby see what they have on offer this month too.  Or next time that supermarket leaflet comes through your door, don’t through it away and see if you can save money this month.
