If your milk is delivered to your doorstep you need to check it before it is consumed because the bottle tops can be pecked by birds. If this happens you should discard the milk and ensure it is not consumed. Some people leave a box or some other form of protective cover for the milkman to prevent the tops being exposed. 

You should bring milk indoors and store it in the fridge as soon as you can.
