Avoid contamination when preparing food

Food poisoning is caused by the spread of germs, cross-contamination and by not controlling food temperatures correctly.  You need to take extra care when handling and preparing food as it can have serious consequences if you don’t.

You should keep raw and cooked food separate at all times. Keep raw meat, fish and poultry away from foods that are ready to eat like bread, vegetables, salads, and sandwiches.
