I tried making Maryland Chicken for a few friends. It was a disaster ... the banana overpowered everything and the cream/wine sauce curdled. Everyone tried to be polite and force a few mouthfuls down but they couldn't keep the pretense up after I declared "This is awful!" ... they all fell about laughing and I've not heard the end of it since. Every time I cook anything now the standard response is: "Well, it can't be as bad as bananas and chicken!"
